Tweet For Tea

What’s a can of iced tea worth to you? About $1.40? How about 140 characters? There’s a vending machine in Cape Town, South Africa called BEV that trades tea for tweets. The machine spits out a special hashtag you need to tweet, verifies your location and then gives you a free BOS Iced Tea. You can follow BEV the BOS Robot on Twitter to see all the lucky people getting free tea in real time… you know, so you can be jealous of them while you’re drinking tea you had to pay for with actual money. Hopefully this twitter based economy will catch on though. I wonder how many tweets it will take to @Verizon before I get a month of free FiOS.
