One Day We’ll All Be Video Chatting With Brad Pitt and Marilyn Monroe

Video chat kind of killed the anonymity of chat rooms, but in the future it’s quite possible that people will just pick a different face to display when they’re online. Arturo Castro has created an application that tracks his own face and maps other features on top of it, using Jason Saragih’s C++ face traking library and image clone code from Kevin Atkinson. The result doesn’t quite fall into the uncanny valley, but it’s definitely on the creepy side. Although the technology hasn’t been perfected, it’s interesting to say the least. Watch the video to see Castro become different people like Brad Pitt, Michael Jackson, and Paris Hilton.
