Wait. What? They most certainly are not. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that no matter where you stand on the ethics of diamonds, you wouldn’t choose leaves as an alternative to some bling (are we still using that word?). Pick a Jewel is a collection of earrings, necklaces and brooches that are simple alligator clips. The point is to revive that childhood notion that the most valuable jewels are the ones we find, by attaching your own precious objects to create a piece of jewelry that’s all your own. Yah. Okay.

I actually like this idea very much – it encourages us to custom-accessorize, remixing things we already have, which in turn discourages us from buying even more shit we don’t need. That said, $69? Are they serious?
Maybe I don’t agree with the artistic statement, but I would actually wear these over diamonds. Just me?
