Glow-In-The-Dark Fish

Glow-In-The-Dark Fish

Seen here kissing his own reflection, an Archocentrus nigrofasciatus var shows off his bioluminescence. It’s the first time a breed of fish have been successfully genetically-engineered to glow on their own. They debuted at a news coference for the 2012 Taiwan International Aquarium Expo held in Taipei. The pink fish glow without needing any kind of ultraviolet lamps or black light or glow sticks or whatever. Not that they wouldn’t like to accessorize with glow sticks, I just think that probably varies from fish to fish. But let’s be real, who would turn down a glow stick? Exactly: self respecting adults. So definitely NOT me. I got zero self respect, folks!
