Camel Festival: Your Chance To Do The Hump

These are some shots from the annual Camel Festival of Bikaner in India. The event holds all kinds of camel competitions, like racing, beauty pageants, dancing, and even a haircut contest. Which, by the way, is not what you’d think — the camels GET the haircuts, they don’t GIVE the haircuts. I know, I know, I’m disappointed too. I’d pay good money to see a camel wielding a pair of scissors! The only thing missing from the competition line-up is a spitting contest. At first I was all “Ah man! No spitting contest. What gives?” but then I saw this picture of a camel in lipstick and I totally forgot what I was talking about. Quality reporting, folks! I’ve got a knack for it.
