Do Parking Meters Take Hundreds?

by Brooke Dowd Sacco

Do Parking Meters Take Hundreds?

If you’re going to charge me anything more than 75 cents for parking, it had better be a spot that overlooks Ryan Gosling sunning on a veranda. Only in New York City can someone have the cajones to sell a parking spot, which is in a condo building in posh Greenwich Village, for $1 million. According to the realtor who’s selling it, “It’s for someone who wants complete privacy. You can drive in and not be seen again. It’s for the type of person who finds that attractive. It could be a celebrity or a business person who is camera shy.” If I were that camera shy and that rich, I would probably be satisfied with a pricey pair of shades and a hoodie.
