Any old artist can pick up a paintbrush and paint something that someone else calls pretty, but Vik Muniz does art a bit differently. He recreates famous artworks using torn up pieces of magazines. His recreations includes iconic artworks such as Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’, Mary Cassatt’s ‘Picking Flowers in a Field’ and Cézanne’s ‘The Card Players’. The latest project entitled ‘Pictures of Magazine 2’ certainly warrants a closer look and a more than a few “how’d he do that?”s.
