France-based artist Sandrine Estrade Boulet takes the “one man’s trash” idiom quite literally, as she turns everyday trash and other city ugliness into a treasure for everyone to experience. The visual artist captures average streets littered with trash and unwelcomed foliage and digitally transforms them into fun, high-spirited images. Mundane scenes turn whimsical by adding limbs and faces to inanimate objects. While a pile of garbage bags, a patch of greenery, and a discarded ironing board (among others) all get a new purpose thanks to this artist’s positive spirit.
