Russian artist, sculptor, and presumably caffeine addict, Arkady Kim has created the world’s largest coffee bean mosaic using about a million coffee beans. The piece is titled “Awakening” presumably not for any deep and spiritual reason, but because coffee puns are hot! The mural measures about 100 square feet and weighs almost 400 lbs. The coffee beans have been (or should I say BEAN) roasted to achieve different shades of brown and then each one was glued into place individually. Of course Kim didn’t do all of the work alone, he had a team of assistants help out. Because you know what they say… the best part of waking up is painstakingly gluing a million coffee beans to a wall while your boss gets all the credit.
