Coffee Ring Stain Portrait

Artist Hong Yi created this coffee stained portrait of musician Jay Chou. The entire process spanned over 12 hours, the only medium being the coffee rings left at the bottom of a mug. Inspired by a lyric in Jay’s song “The Secret,” Hong Yi intended the portrait to resemble a sepia-toned photograph. That’s beautiful. Of course, when I leave coffee rings on the table, my roommate calls me a slob and asks if I was raised in a barn. Yeah, and so what if I was?!
