As a kid a pile of quarters promised hours of fun in the arcade, but as an adult they only promise fresh smelling clothes. Sure, clean clothes are important, but obviously not as important as saving the world from space invaders or being crowned the king of fighters. But this laundry arcade machine adds a sense of epic adventure to an otherwise boring chore. Designed by college student Lee Wei Chen, this design combines two very different coin-op machines to create a unique experience. While playing video games is certainly more fun than doing laundry, keep in mind that just like with arcade games, if you lose you have to put in more coins to keep playing—or in this case, to keep washing your clothes.
I’d never go to the laundrymat again. In fact, I’d never pass up laundry duty.
