Bananas Are The New Sketchbooks

Over the years, artists have used a wide variety of mediums to express their creativity. Canadian artist Riss has raised the bar by giving up paper in favor of bananas. She has several pieces (all Doctor Who themed) displayed on her site, and has no plans of giving up banana art anytime soon. Each piece was created by using a pin as a “pen” of sorts. The pin bruises the banana, resulting in banana bruises that bear a surprising resemblance to pen strokes. You might think this is an odd art form, but we’re pretty sure Doctor Who would approve, and that’s good enough for us. Source
