Painting requires a lot of patience and planning. Without careful planning you could end up changing your painting dozens of times before you get it just right. For instance if you were to paint a still life of an orange you’d want to figure out whether or not you want to paint an unpeeled orange, or one that’s been peeled… or maybe you just want to paint a few slices… or just one slice. You wouldn’t want to have to paint every single stage of an orange being peeled, then eaten, because you didn’t plan. Not unless of course you had the foresight to film the whole process because that would make a pretty nifty video.
